AIMIR: We Are A Manufacturing Company, And We Use Linktree As The Website. Is This Okay?
We manufacture and offer made-to-order packaging for SMEs. Right now, all our orders come through the sales team, email and WhatsApp. Some people told us we need a proper website. But websites are expensive. So we decided to use Linktree instead since it’s free. Is this the right way forward?”
You’ve built your packaging business the right way, which is through people. Orders flow in from the sales team, email and WhatsApp, and that’s proof the relationships you’ve nurtured are working. The question now is whether a proper website is worth it, especially when you’ve already put everything on Linktree as a free alternative.
Now, FYI, Linktree is not a long-term solution. It doesn’t build trust. In B2B packaging, credibility is everything. When a potential customer Googles your company and only finds a Linktree page, it can make you look cheap. A proper website, even a very simple one, on the other hand, sends the signal that you’re established, reliable, credible and ready for larger orders.
To own a proper website, you don’t need to spend big. Start with a single page first. Highlighting your brand and logo, who you are, your value proposition, what you offer, why you matter, sharing a glimpse of how your company operates, and how to contact you is more than enough to start. Complement the information with a series of images and videos. Platforms like Squarespace, WordPress, or even Shopify let you build something clean and professional for a very low monthly cost. Don’t forget to create your company’s Google Business Profile too.
Linktree is fine as a temporary fix, but a terrible option for the long term. For SMEs in manufacturing, that difference in perception could be the thing that opens the door to bigger customers.
