Azleen Abdul Rahim,
Marketing Advisor
Hello.
My name is Azleen Abdul Rahim. I'm a marketing advisor. I prefer to write rather than talk.
My mom and dad were teachers. As a result, my childhood was somehow centred around reading books and articles. This could be the reason why I love reading today. I graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia back in 1997 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing.
Since graduation, I’ve worked for local and international multinationals. Sapura Telecommunications, Redtone International, VADS, Avaya and Siemens gave me tremendous exposure to the marketing strategy universe that built me into what I am today.
Then one day, I decided to jump into entrepreneurship. In 2017, I set up a marketing advisory firm called NSE Interactive. It grew from Day 1. Among its customers were Malaysia International Halal Showcase or MIHAS, Al-Ikhsan Sports, Iskandar Investment Bhd, Generali Malaysia, Pelangi Publishing and the UN-organised Asia Pacific Climate Week 2023—just to name a few.
All of these customers were secured through partners. In 2024, NSE Interactive was rebranded as AAR & Company. I'm now running this marketing advisory firm.
Back then, while building the marketing advisory business, in 2015, Utusan Malaysia invited me to become a columnist. Then another mainstream media outlet, DagangNews, did the same. I wrote for these mainstream publications for 5 and 2 years respectively—producing one insightful marketing article week-in-week-out without fail.
And, most are related to marketing strategy and lead generation—written in Bahasa Melayu. In December 2017, on the side, I established an online marketing magazine called Marketing In Asia. The idea was simple—to help marketers and businesses amplify their online presence better. The growth was spectacular. In April 2021, a Singapore-based firm came knocking on my door and acquired it for $250,000. This is where I exited.
Besides advising businesses on marketing strategy, I write marketing articles too. A lot. Writing, magically, keeps me sharp and structured. I park most of my articles on Ta-daa, an editorial site of AAR & Company, and LinkedIn.

“If someone asked me how I would describe Azleen as a person, I would say, Azleen doesn’t sell to you what he markets; he markets what he wants to sell to you.
This tall, big, hefty guy who has a timid smile and steady voice often attempts to hide in the background, silently watching everyone else do what they do. While some label him as ‘reserved’, I’d say he is ‘approachable’, but not for small talk ( as you’d need to do the talking).
He listens ardently when you speak, for he is picking up all the keywords, ideas, and suggestions you make along the way towards his continuous learning and exploring journey. His humbleness and his ‘please tell me more face’ will only have you sharing about everything and everyone and success stories here and there ( again to his benefit).
Unless you’re talking marketing, business, branding, and entrepreneurship, then move aside cause he’s like the superhero who would just emerge and save the conversation from going south by explaining in depth how the world of valuable marketing works! His passion, continual innovative thinking, strategies, and tactics will only leave you to wonder if he trained Philip Kotler, Seth Godwin, or Neil Patel ( ok, let’s just park him alongside them in terms of value marketing ).
Having known him over cups and cups of coffee, I’d say you’d do very right ( you won’t go wrong) if you invest in his ideas of bringing change to the world of doing profitable businesses the new way.
I can assure you that Azleen does not just talk ‘marketing’. He has tried and tested what he shares and has gone through his fair share of failures, so rest assured, you’re in good hands with the brand name ‘ Azleen Abdul Rahim’.”
