Don't confuse attention with trust

Did you know that a sudden spike in the incoming traffic to your website, the number of likes, or views of your social media posts rarely translates to actual revenue? High reach feels exciting, but it is not putting money in the bank; it is not helping you to pay bills either. It is pretty much a distraction rather than the vehicle needed for customer acquisition. Those visitors or followers might give you a second of their time, but they will never give you their confidence. We call this an authority problem. If you keep mistaking a crowded room for a loyal customer base, your business will die sooner than you think.

Here's how to fix it.

Well, start asking yourself these questions. One, what specific outcome are you proving you can deliver to your potential customers? Two, are you speaking to people who have a real intent to buy? Three, put yourself in the shoes of those customers out there; does your brand presence project proof of capability or just proof of popularity? Four, if you stopped posting for a month, would your prospective customers actually miss your insights? The answers to the questions might give you the reality your business is in right now.
