Hema Kangeson Of The Leaders Circle, On The Cost Of Outdated Organisational Mindset
The current challenges facing the business world stem from focusing on outdated metrics of success and an organisational culture that hasn't evolved with the times. This is the reality in many organisations that I have either personally worked in across eight industries in three continents or have heard about from numerous individuals over conversations throughout the past 20 years.
This reality exists across Multinational companies (MNCs), Government Linked companies (GLCs), Large companies to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Could this be your organisation?. This causes distress or harm not just to employees but to other stakeholders. The distress or harm shows up in a variety of ways, including a lack of creativity and innovation, unethical behaviour and practices, escalating burnout – the mental health pandemic, and the list goes on.
Is this really the type of organisation you want to create or uphold in 2025 and beyond?
Conscious organisational culture and leadership are crucial today. Conscious, in this context, means the ability to connect the dots at a systemic level, and then be part of dismantling and reimagining a new and better way for all, not just the few in organisations. That is what I want to be part of and co-create with others at this stage of my career journey. This requires courage, commitment, and a long-term perspective.
The challenge remains: Are you ready to join this movement for change that is needed today?
