I started with an event company, going out to find business on my own. Alhamdulillah, my first project was a huge contract. The funny part? I secured and signed it first, and only then started figuring out how to find the capital to deliver it.

I had the contract, but I didn't have the money, resources, or answers at that time. I admit, I was a little nervous, but I refused to give up. I learned to ask, negotiate, adapt, and keep searching until I found a solution.

That very moment shaped the way I do business today. When an opportunity comes, I take it, then I find a way to make it happen. You don’t always need to have everything ready before you say yes; you just need the courage to start and the determination to deliver.

Over the years, that mindset allowed me to expand into F&B with several restaurants and, most recently, into the hotel business. Today, I am still actively involved in all three.

It is also why I always tell my team: “Don’t tell me we cannot do it until you have tried everything.” People have gone to the moon and come back; surely, there is a way for us to solve a daily business problem. “We cannot do it” should never be your first answer. Try first, find a way, and only give up when every single option has been exhausted.

After 16 years, I realise that entrepreneurship isn't about having everything figured out beforehand. It is about having the courage to seize the opportunity, the humility to learn along the way, and the grit to keep going. We started with very little, but slowly and surely, we built something that lasts.
