There’s this one short Microsoft Copilot video I watched, back in 2023. I had no idea that a short video would eventually lead me to start a company. At that time, I wasn’t looking to become an entrepreneur. I had a promising career, I was comfortable with what I was doing, and I certainly didn’t have a grand plan to build an AI company. But I couldn’t stop thinking about what I had just seen.
I kept whispering to myself, “If AI can really work alongside people like this, what will happen to the way businesses work?”
So I called Kelvin. We started talking, questioning, arguing, and eventually decided to build something together. That became Xtractify. Honestly, I didn’t know where it would take us.
At first, I thought entrepreneurship was mostly about having a good idea and building good technology. I learned very quickly that it wasn’t. The harder part was getting businesses to trust something that was still unfamiliar. Especially when you ask them to let AI handle real business processes, real data, and real money. That changed the way I thought about AI.
Instead of asking that typical“What can AI do?” question, we started asking ourselves, “What does a business need before it can actually trust AI?” That very question has shaped Xtractify ever since.
Three years later, we are working with enterprises and building technology far beyond what Kelvin and I imagined when we first started talking. But I still think about that video. Sometimes entrepreneurship doesn’t start with a business plan.
Sometimes it starts with an idea that simply refuses to leave your head.
